Arkibong Bayan Radio features a digital collection of socially relevant, patriotic, progressive, nationalist, and even revolutionary songs from the Philippines intended for educational, advocacy, and non-profit purposes only. The rights to the songs remain with the individual authors, composers, and publishers.
A big part of the song collection from the 1970s to 2000s came from Monram’s audio capture and editing of the cassette tapes these music albums are on. The same non-profit copies were distributed for free to organizations and people’s movements in the early 2000s, when MP3s were popularly used.
As we continue to grow this collection, we will share bits of history as to the source of these digitized versions and also of the actual songs and their authors. For now, press the PLAY button!
